The DC Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has recommendations for buyers considering purchasing a renovated home or hiring contractors to renovate their current home. Broadly speaking, the OAG recommendations are to:

A. Research the Developer / Seller for Red Flags

B. Ensure Construction is in accordance with Issued Permits and by Licensed Contractors - Three permit known violations documented here

C. Consult Neighbors

D. Retain an Engineer to do more than a cursory home inspection
